Curious George goes to an ice cream shop

More than my son I love Curious George stories. The curiosity leads the monkey into trouble- always. The good thing is that he just wanted to help. His intentions are very genuine and caring. Its just that he does not know exactly how and without knowing he jumps into and messes it up. At the end, however, George always does the right thing and clears all the mess and his goal of helping or being useful is fulfilled.

My son says this monkey always messes up things and gets away with it. Yes.. after all that's what monkeys do. We have watched the series on youtube also, he likes it but not love it. Somehow he cannot identify or relate himself with a naughty monkey or child. I feel that in this book too, my son sympathizes with the ice cream shop owner. " Why did the monkey mess up?" " why didn't he ask before taking it?" The book does make him laugh though. It is funny.

The book is easy to read and interesting for a child. To be in a icecream and do/eat whatever he likes is probably every ice cream lovers dream. One banana split ice cream for me too!!!!

I borrowed the book from library. I wouldn't mind buying a copy as well. It is lovely. I love ice creams.

Monkey Puzzle by Julia Donaldson

Another lovely book by Julia Donaldson. I love the illustrations in the book- very bright, cute and colorful. It is very pleasant to look at and read. It is a story of a baby monkey who is looking for his mother. A butterfly tries to help but the funny part is neither monkey is able to give exact description and butterfly keeps finding the wrong animal.

The book is a long. My 4 year old son loved to read it at the beginning . After he reached the half the book he  got tired and refused to read ." Mamma, the baby monkey still cannot find his mamma. It is taking too long" I read the remaining half. Honestly even I got a slightly bored by the end.  In my opinion, the book is for 3 or younger who will enjoy knowing characteristics and features of different animals.

I borrowed it from a library. It would have been lovely if I had bought it when he 2 or 3.

Night Monkey Day Monkey by Julia Donaldson

I borrowed this book from my son's school library. This book is just another gem from Julia Donaldson. It has cute illustrations. The story is about how the two monkeys see the world differently. When day monkey sees the night "world" and night monkey sees the day, they are scared and apprehensive. The message is that the world might seem odd from your point of view but from someone else's it is perfectly normal.

For my boy, this book is very easy to read. It is interesting as well so he kept on reading without losing interest. But one read was enough. He would have liked it more when he was 2 or 3 years old, but at 4.5 - no.

Some parts I found it hard to read to my son as a bed time story since it is written in black on dark blue. Hard to read in a night lamp .

Book review: Puppy Birthday to You! (Paw Patrol) (Little Golden Book)

Puppy Birthday to you! is the latest addition to our book collection.I bought this book for lil' A as a surprise present. I believe in surprising my child with a present for no particular reason- just like that- he loves it!!

Paw Patrol on Nick jr is his current favorite Television show. He loves birthdays and surprise birthday parties like any 4 year old. So when I saw this on Amazon, I just had to get it for my little bookworm.

The story in this book is adapted from the episode entitled "Pups Turn On the Lights". It has all his favorite Paw patrol pup- Chase. The story is about the Paw Patrol team planning a surprise birthday party for Chase. Oh NO..The lights go out ...what will happen next? why did the light go off? How they celebrate his birthday?

The book is full of fun, adventure, problem solving, creative ideas to solve them, party planning and a birthday. In short it has all that Lil' A loves.

It is a hard cover book. The pictures are cute and writing is simple. It is a short story, just perfect since he is just learning to read.

Things that I totally loved about this book are the eco-friendly concepts. A fun book with some educational concepts is a win- win game.

Windmills: The concept of generating electricity by wind mills is introduced in this book. Lil' A is big on Eco-friendly ways of life, saving electricity and saving the earth.  So he loved reading how his favorite paw friends helped generate electricity with wind power.

Recycle: Rocky finds a surfboard and reuses to repair the broken windmill. We are all for recycling, reusing and upcycle. This idea is so cool!!

To be honest, I didn't know that Paw Patrol had books and that they were so good . I am so glad that I found them from a random search on Amazon.  I highly recommend this book for any Paw Patrol fan!
